"Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" Auditions and Casting Information

Walt Disney Pictures and Jerry Bruckheimer Films have officially given the green light to begin production on "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" starring Johnny Depp. The project is in active development and filming begins in April, 2010. there will be several new main characters cast for the film, as well as numerous supporting roles and extras.

Depp will reprise his role as Captain Jack Sparrow, and the film is aiming for a Summer 2011 release date.

Story:

The 4th film in the series follows the exploits of Captain Jack Sparrow, who travels to the new world after the death of his puppeteer father to confront his uncle, who apparently has made off with the family inheritance. During the voyage, he gets to know a woman named Beth Hurwood and her father, an Oxford professor. Before they arrive, their ship is waylaid by pirates and, with the help of the professor and his assistant, the captain is killed and Sparrow is forced to join the pirate crew. There is, however, a sinister plot being concocted by the professor involving his dead wife, his living daughter and Blackbeard. Blackbeard and vodun magicians whisk everyone away to dreamlike lands where the Fountain of Youth itself awaits. Jack Sparrow must put a stop to these plans and save Beth Hurwood.

Walt Disney Pictures is in pre-production for the live-action feature film "John Carter of Mars", which is an adaptation of the Edgar Rice Burroughs 11-volume Barsoom book series. "John Carter of Mars" is part one of a film trilogy, and will be based on just the first novel. Andrew Stanton will direct ( Finding Nemo, WALL·E) and this will be his first live-action film directorial debut. Actually, the film will combine computer-based animation and live actors to become a CGI/live-action hybrid movie.

Filming begins in January, 2010, and will take place in Utah, Texas (Austin), and the UK. The release date is scheduled for 2012.

Walt Disney Pictures' Miley Cyrus feature film "Wings" Auditions and Casting Information

Walt Disney Pictures is teaming with Twilight co-production company Temple Hill Entertainment to bring the best-selling Aprilynne Pike novel "Wings" to the silver screen. The film is being developed for Miley Cyrus to play the leading role of Laurel, a 15-year-old girl who grows up sheltered and home-schooled in a small town. Miley Cyrus' mother Tish will also Executive Produce.

Pike's novel is the first of a planned four-book series, and is expected to become a film franchise vehicle for Miley Cyrus.

Walt Disney Pictures Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea casting information

The upcoming Disney feature film "Captain Nemo: 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea" is now in pre-production. Story:

The story begins with the mystery of an underwater "beast" that has been stalking boats, taking bites out of them, and leaving them to sink to the bottom of the sea. The hunt has begun to find a new actress to voice Chloe, the character voiced by Drew Barrymore in the original, and a new actress to replace Piper Perabo, who won’t be returning as Rachel. A few others also won't be returning.

New characters to be cast in the sequel include Papi Jr, son of the original film’s hero, Papi, Antonio and Alberto, two German Shepherds training to be police dogs; and a stuck-up standard-size poodle named Appoline.
